I have been doing a lot of reading this year and I’ve been super proud of all that I have read so far! I have also been impressed by the quality of books I’ve been reading: authors are incredible!!! I wanted to share some of the books I’ve read so far this year with my ratings and reviews on them. Hopefully this helps you add to your “to read” list! In addition, if you like reading and you don’t have Goodreads, get it! Here’s my profile:

Now onto the books…

The Moonlight Child by Karen McQuestion – 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful and had me crying at the end! What’s not to love?

When You See Me by Lisa Gardner – 5 stars

This book had a good thorough story and the ending was a good thrilling surprise!

The Whisper Man by Alex North – 5 stars

This book was so intelligently written. It was suspenseful, thrilling, creepy, and incredible. The author tied it up so beautifully at the end too! Definitely suggest giving this a read 👍🏼

Into The Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes – 5 stars

An incredibly suspenseful, scary, and creepy tale of how someone can scare you, even when they’re not right there. I was so invested in the characters in this book and every time I read more, I could feel my anxiety heightening for the lead character.

The Institute by Stephen King – 4 stars

Truthfully, I don’t think Stephen King is my favorite author because of his tendency to lengthen his books with unnecessary details and an abundance of psychological components. However, I do understand why this book was rated so high. I just think my taste in books and writing styles are different than his.

I Am Watching You by Teresa Driscoll – 5 stars

An easy, fast, thrilling read! The storyline was great and the character development was intriguing too! Loved it!

Standing Strong: A Woman’s Guide to Overcoming Adversity and Living with Confidence – 5 stars

Prep talk in a book!!

The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley – 5 stars

This ending was so strategically and carefully written – I was engrossed the more I got into the book. Very good!!

If You Tell: A True Story of Murder, Family Secrets, and the Unbreakable Bond of Sisterhood by Gregg Olson – 3 stars

This book had a true story in it which is basically like a true crime podcast in a book. However, I felt like the author told the story super slow and it felt very hard to get into it.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith – 4 stars

This wasn’t as fast paced as I would have liked it to be BUT I became so attached to the main character. It was like growing up alongside of her. I’ll miss her. Goodbye, Francie.

A Stranger in the House by Shari Lapena – 5 stars

I have LOVED Shari’s writing style. Each book is filled with quick thrills and crazy turns. Every time I pick up one of her books, I can’t put it down. I always finish them in a day or two!
