My Morning Routine: Things That Set Me Up For Success

I realized that I haven’t done one of these in awhile and I think that routines are definitely something that change through the seasons and different chapters of our life. My life has changed a lot since my last morning routine post because I have moved into my new apartment, I am working completely from home, and have acquired a few different habits than I used to. So, let’s jump right into it!

8:00 a.m. – Wake up (this time changes if it’s during the school week)

I usually set my alarm for this time or I naturally wake around this time! I like to get 8 hours or so of sleep a night and I tend to go to sleep around 11 p.m. but that doesn’t mean I fall asleep right at that time.

8 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. – Phone Notifications Check

I know I shouldn’t go on my phone right away but I truly just can’t help it and I always like to make sure I didn’t miss anything important! So, I usually check my notifications and any other social media notifications too and respond to anything pressing! I don’t usually linger on my phone too long though because I like to get up and get going.

8:15 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. roughly – Clean the Apartment Quickly

I cannot get anything done if the apartment is not clean. It’s funny because I used to thrive in the mess but the older I got the more picky I became about my space. This is crucial for me though because working from home means my home is my work space. I need to be able to be productive so I usually clean the mess Tyler made during breakfast, wipe counters, make the bed, clear the coffee table, and wipe the stove. I will sweep if the floors are too messy! Normally during this time I will listen to a podcast to keep it fun! My favorite ones to listen to are Crime Junkie, Goal Digger, CounterClock, and Morbid.

8:45 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. – Make Breakfast and Eat It!

I have been trying to make it a habit to eat a breakfast every single morning since I have the time to. I’ve noticed that not eating breakfast has really messed with my glycemic levels so I want to get those normal. My breakfast varies from berries, oatmeal to cereal and toast, or eggs and toast! Those are a few of my staples though.

9:15 a.m. – Make My Delicious Cup of Fuel

My Nespresso machine is what makes me so freaking excited to wake up in the morning. It tastes just like a Starbucks or Caribou coffee for more than HALF the price! Yes honey I will have one of those. Anyway, so I made myself either an almond milk mocha or oat milk latte! Whichever I am feeling that day.

9:30 a.m. – To Do List

This is when I create my to do list and make sure that I have it all either written out or typed out so that I don’t miss anything that day. I find this helps me stay motivated, on task, and productive! Try it! But make it realistic – don’t set yourself up to fail.

9:45 a.m. – WORK WORK WORK

This really just depends on whatever I am doing that day but this can consist of engagement, video content, editing, business calls, or emails! I basically just start somewhere and go!

I hope this was a nice change of pace for my blog since the last few were maybe more dense! What does your morning routine consist of?
