Someone really smart once told me, “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” That saying kept popping into my head when I was trying to think of my New Year’s resolutions because I think a lot of people, including me, come up with a long list of things we want to accomplish but we don’t. Why? Because we don’t have any plan, any action steps. So, I wanted to do this blog post a little differently in hopes that it inspires you to do your New Year’s Resolutions a little more strategically this year. To help with that, I wanted to offer you all a downloadable PDF to write down your plan to help you achieve your goals. Here is my goals and their actions steps!

DRINK MORE WATER

Action Steps:
  • Have a water bottle with me always
  • Use flavor packets
  • No La Croix or coffee until I have drank water (kind of a reward system)
  • Start with one water bottle a day to not overwhelm me

30 MINUTES OF ACTIVITY/DAY

Action Steps:
  • I can choose what form I feel like (walking, lifting, zumba, yoga)
  • Use that 30 minutes to watch a favorite show or vlogger (a reward/combine it with a positive association)
  • Pick a time and stick to it/help it become a routine

UPDATE BUDGET WEEKLY

Action Steps:
  • Set a Google Calendar Event to remind me each week
  • Have Tyler help/makes it more fun/he’s best with numbers
  • Ensure driving miles is up to date on desk calendar

READ MORE BOOKS

Action Steps:
  • Bring a book everywhere (bus, car, work)
  • 10 minutes a day starting (less overwhelming)
  • Right before bed (makes me sleepy)

CREATE MORE CREATIVELY

Action Steps:
  • Buy props to help (can write off)
  • Do photoshoots with multiple looks on one day
  • Search Pinterest/Instagram for inspiration/ideas

REUSE CONTENT

Action Steps:
  • Repin old pins
  • Reshare old photos on social media with new presets (new followers haven’t seen photos from a year ago)
  • Post old blog posts in new Facebook groups
  • Repurpose PDF’s (new people haven’t seen them)

ENGAGE MORE ON INSTAGRAM

Action Steps:
  • Make at least 5 comments a day to other’s photos
  • Find 5 new accounts to follow/engage per day
  • Message 2 people a day
